Bea is a self taught cook who loves the challenge of creating a healthy seafood meal that is not only satisfying and delicious these simple recipees combines fresh produce, commonly-available ingredients and your fresh catch of the day. Spicy Tuna Poke
Serves: 4-6 as an appertizer
1tsp sesame oil
2 Tbsp regular soy sauce
½ tsp sugar
½ tsp dried chili flakes
500g fresh Tuna, diced into 2cm cubes
1 medium tomato, finely diced
½ a small cucumber, finely diced
½ red onion, finely diced2
Tbsp green onion, finely chopped
Fried shallots (Optional– you can get this in the specialty isle at most supermarkets)
Mix the first 4 ingredients in a large bowl. Add all the other ingredients and allow to marinate for at least half an hour to a few hours.
2. Poke can be enjoyed on a bed of jasmine or sushi rice, on corn chips or just by itself. ENJOY!
This recipe can be made using fresh kingfish too.
